We are happy to announce the new fabric collection St. Ives by Sarah Fielke will start shipping to U.S. stores in early December.

St. Ives is the second collection Sarah has designed for Lecien. According to Sarah, “St Ives is about catching and bottling the shapes, colors and innocence of growing up, and using them in my quilts. St Ives is about my childhood. My favorite color combinations were the classics of the late '70's and early '80's - not fluoro, but the slightly softer palettes of pink and grey, purple and teal, blue and yellow, red and white. These are the colors that inspired me when I was working towards the combinations for St Ives.  I have captured the spirit of the 80’s in the collections 4 color-way names – Watermelon (pink and grey), Cherry (red and white), Blue Vanilla (blue and yellow) and Polar Purple Shiver (purple and teal).”

Sarah been stitching and sewing for over 30years. She co-opened her first quilt shop, Material Obsession in Hunters Hill, Sydney, where she could work and teach her passion every day, surrounded by inspirational and colorful modern fabrics. Challenging her students and customers with new ideas for using modern fabric, color, design and sewing techniques, Sarah inspires quilters worldwide to be more creative, find their own style and to step outside their comfort zone.

Breaking down "quilting rules" was the highly popular theme for her first two co-authored ground breaking and successful quilt books now published in four languages - Material Obsession One; Contemporary Quilt Designs, and Material Obsession Two; Shared Inspiration. Her first solo book, Quilting: From Little Things, published in March 2011, builds on a journey of discovery.
